Hi,
I have cera theme installed in my website. In “Groups” section i created a Group “The biracial lounge”. However in the group display page, there’s no view button in the Group Description part, so i am not able to view the full description. https://freeblackworld.com/lounges/the-biracial-lounge/.Please Help.

It would be indeed very nice to change the maximum size of the excerpt, especially when the groups have a long description.
Please note that I took the liberty to move this topic to our Feature Requests forum. As your idea could be a nice addition to our theme, we will implement this feature if other community members upvote your request.

The group description is a text area, so, I think it’s right that we should be able to have a long description. Either there should be a read more button or the text shouldn’t be trimmed. Can you please help me with a solution? Or you can let me know in which file I should make the change to increase the size of the excerpt.

Thank you @youfriend for the suggestion 🙂 However in this case I don’t think that solution will work because we override the group template and use a different function than the default to show the description as an excerpt.
@ittek, if you really want to increase the length of the excerpt while waiting for this feature to be eventually implemented, you can go in “wp-content/plugins/grimlock-buddypress/templates/groups/single/cover-image-header.php” open that file and change the length of the excerpt on line 79 :
<?php bp_group_description_excerpt(false, 200); ?>. You just need to change200by any length you want.However, please note that we don’t recommend directly modifying plugin files as your changes will be overridden if you update the plugin, and your group headers might look a little bit weird if the description is too long.
