According to you, the Grimlock features allow you to customize the theme. I am still having trouble with how to do it. Nothing about this theme is customizeable except for a few colors. Everything I need to customize seems to be not included or not covered by your support as it constitutes a custom change. This is extremely irritating. I wish I bought a different theme for this project. Its horrible service and the theme out of the box has a ton of problems.

Now, I ask that you kindly help me with these problems and dont give me a runaround. I am the freelancer in this situation and I’m not going to hire outside help. You should be responsible for your theme and help me find the way to alter ANY and EVERY aspect of the theme. So far its been extremely limited in what I can customize. And we are talking simple things that you should be able to alter in any theme. Being confined to this Grimlock is horrible.

I have attached screenshots. When logged out, there seems to be no way to alter the header of the page. The Login and Register buttons need to be there, but when the screen sizes down I get an INVISIBLE hamburger menu. My guess is that its white on white. I cant even use CSS to change these things because you have everything so layered in code that its impossible to find the classes that will affect what I am looking for. How can I edit this?

When you click the menu it drops down, fine. but what is controlling the color of those buttons and why is Login a different color than Register? How do I make the buttons readable and the same colors?

The logo is way too small here. I have tried to change it with CSS and with Customizer, but on this screen it stays this tiny size. What the hell is going on with this theme?

This is one of the worst themes I’ve ever used, and definitely the worst Ive ever paid for. Stop avoiding helping me and just help me fix your theme, or give me some documentation that actually points to how to change things.

    Hi Brendan,

Thank you for sharing your honest opinion. We’re sorry to read that our theme doesn’t reach your standards.

We remind you that a theme affects the presentation and visual style of your site, while plugins add all kinds of features and functionality. As theme authors, the installation, setting or debugging of third party plugins isn’t part of the support we will provide. When an issue concern a third party plugin, not with the use of your theme, it’s best if you reach the plugin authors.

However, when some requests concern some custom work, we try our best to provide a snippet, as long as this request is part of a defect that needs to be fixed urgently. No snippets will be shared otherwise.. We can’t provide to all our customer some custom code as a lot of request are very specifics. As theme author, the customization of your website isn’t part of the support we will provide. However, we’ll do our best to redirect you to a possible solution. Moreover, if you have any suggestion, feel free to create a feature request. We will implement this feature if other community members upvote this request. 🙂

You can change the hamburger color by clicking on Customize > Appearance > Navigation > Item and change the Menu Item Text Color. Please find the attached screenshot.

Note that the Login and Register buttons will by customized with the primary button colors. I suggest you to change the primary button colors or the navbar background color to make them more visible. Be aware that they have a different style to make them more noticeable.

Concerning the size of the logo, we’ve recently addressed this very issue in another topic. To find out how you can resolve it, please click the following link:

So, none of what you told me was anything new that I didn’t already try. So again nothing you said actually helped solve the issue. The problem is, again another strangeness of this theme, or perhaps workign with buddypress, since I am new to it as well. I noticed that when I was finally able to see one of my effects have a change it was right after the latest grimlock update. I’m not sure if that might have been causing the problem, but I have noticed that there are glitches and inconsistencies with customizer showing things updating in real time, and sometimes not updating until you press publish and x out of customizer.

While viewing the logged out version of my site, i was not seeing customizer changes going into effect. The changes were not shown because I was viewing the site in an incognito window, so that i could see registered changes while i am also logged in in a regular window. Since the header is waht i was editing and its different for logged in and out users, i had to edit while logged in and check my changes while logged out. in order to save time i just had my site logged out in an incognito window. XD So in order to see any customization changes you have to close the incognito window, not just refresh the window, which is what i was doing and not seeing any changes register. Then reopen a new incognito window and go to your site. I guess while in an incognito window once you load the page you are looking at a cached page, and refreshing it doesn’t show any changes you might have made in customizer until you revisit the page in a new window

    Hi Brendan,

If I understand correctly, you already knew where to edit these features, but these modifications were not shown. Am I right?

It can be possible that your customizer preview is not working. To find out more about this, please click on the following link:
    https://docs.presscustomizr.com/article/232-customizer-appearance-customize-is-not-working

Note that you have the right reflex: you have to publish and refresh the page. The reason you can’t see the modifications after the refresh is related to the cache. If you’re on a mac, simply click on cmd + shift + r. It will refresh your page and empty the cache to make your modifications visible. Note that you can do it manually in your browser options.

    Thank you.
