It’s really hard to tell and it depends on the loading time required by BuddyPress to display extra groups and users. Usually, the plugin will make its best effort to load pages via AJAX, to prevent from loading all you database content at once. So, you should be fine.

However, it’s best if you try to reach the plugin authors. They will be more informed to answer this question.
