Hello,
I have an issue on my site where users cannot request to join private groups. They can join public groups but cannot join private groups.
The page in question is https://www.swalky.com/groups/create/, although do note that you must have an account to access this page.
I have attempted to troubleshoot this issue myself by deactivating all plugins and enabling one by one and found that the issue is present when the following plugins are enabled:
‘Grimlock’
‘Grimock for BuddyPress’
‘Grimlock for Elementor’Also see attached screenshots for evidence.
– Screenshot 1. is with the above plugins disabled and allows all group requests.
– Screenshot 2. is with the above plugins enabled and only allows requests to only public groups. The loader keeps spinning for private access.August 6, 2020 at 10:04 #15935@themodactyl- 0 Topics

Hi @luaspo,
Thank you for reaching out to us!
It’s best if we take a quick look at this…
Could you create a new website user for us please? If possible with administrator capabilities so we can make investigate deeply.
You can post the user name and password in your next reply and mark it as private to keep this between us.Also, are we free to deactivate plugins for our tests? In this case, I invite you to make a backup before we investigate your website further in order to make sure you don’t loose any data if something goes wrong.
Thank you.

Hi @luaspo,
Thank you for your precious feedback! There is definitely an issue in one of our plugin (Grimlock for BuddyPress) which will be fixed in a next update.
In the meantime, simply add the following code snippet to your website:
#buddypress:not(.youzer) #groups-list div.action a.group-button.request-membership { pointer-events: auto !important; }
To add this code snippet to your site, we recommend that you paste it to the Custom CSS panel of your WordPress Customizer. Just go to your dashboard and navigate to “Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS”. Pasting your code snippet there should do the trick for you.

Hi @luaspo,
We have just released a new update of Grimlock for BuddyPress. Updating this plugin to the latest version should fix this issue.
After the update, the problem should now be fixed. However, you might still be seeing the issue because your browser cache is showing you an older version of the page (browsers do that to load pages faster). To see that the issue is resolved you will need to empty your browser cache and reload the page. If you want to read more on what browser cache is and how to clear it, here is an article that might help you:
https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-clear-cache-2617980Please, make sure that your theme and all your plugins are up to date. 🙂
Kindest regards,
