I searched the internet for a manual download of Grimlock for Buddyboss,
I found a link in the forums for grimlock for buddypress.

    From WordPress:
    Installing Plugin: Grimlock for BuddyBoss
The plugin does not have a valid header.

    Downloading installation package from http://files.themosaurus.com/grimlock-buddyboss/grimlock-buddyboss.zip…

    Download failed. Not Found

I clicked the link it brought me to this thesaurus homepage, not a link path.

the theme is constantly asking me to specifically get grimlock for buddy boss not buddy press.

can someone send me the link to manually download that?

    Hi Isaac,

Could you please send us some screenshots of the message you’re seeing on your website?

Please note that “Grimlock for BuddyBoss” doesn’t exist. Instead, Grimlock for BuddyPress includes several features designed to help BuddyBoss align with the general appearance of our themes. While some compatibility adjustments have been made, full compatibility hasn’t been achieved yet. You may need to apply some custom CSS to make the plugin fit to the general appearance of the theme.

    Thanks for your reply,
attached is the request I’ve received since installing Armadon

“This theme recommends the following plugin: Grimlock for BuddyBoss.
Begin installing plugin | Dismiss this notice

then when I click install it gives me this:

“The plugin does not have a valid header.

    Downloading installation package from http://files.themosaurus.com/grimlock-buddyboss/grimlock-buddyboss.zip…

    Download failed. Not Found

    Return to Required Plugins Installer”

Both are attached as well. Thank yoU!

    Hi Isaac,

This plugin doesn’t exist. It seems it is an error in Grimlock, you can ignore this notice. As I told you, Grimlock for BuddyPress includes several features designed to help BuddyBoss align with the general appearance of our themes. However, it is not fully compatible yet. I suggest you to use BuddyPress instead, this plugin is fully compatible.

So it’s grimlock that is requesting the ‘grimlock for buddy boss”?
“This theme recommends the following plugin: Grimlock for BuddyBoss”
Is there a code or something in the site that is linked or calling for grimlock for buddyboss when it should have said grimlock for bbpress?

I did download ‘grimlock for bbpress’ a while back and the site still isn’t quite what the demo was.
Any help to get it to match the demo would be helpful, I thought the reason it wasn’t looking like the demo was because of the missing plugin?

All integration with buddy press users/groups and stuff is styled the old way within the theme, instead of how to demo portrayed it.

what was the CSS you mentioned that I’d have to change to make it match more:
You may need to apply some custom CSS to make the plugin fit to the general appearance of the theme.

Any help or point to help is appreciated, I love how the theme demo looks and would love my site to look like that demo.

    Hi Isaac,

Grimlock is the engine of our theme, it is the bridge between our theme and any compatible plugin you might install. As you know, too many plugins will considerably slow down your page loading time. Only two plugins (Grimlock and Kirki) are actually required to make our theme perfectly work. We developed some additional plugins (Grimlock for BuddyPress, Grimlock for the Events Calendar, etc). We didn’t choose to make all the style in the theme to keep it light. Each plugin needs his Grimlock plugin to be compatible with the theme. For exemple: if you don’t want to use BuddyPress, you don’t need the style of BuddyPress. Some theme authors include this style directly in the theme, we don’t. This would have slowed down your website, this is why we choose to work differently and include this style in a plugin. To apply the theme styles to BuddyPress, you need to install Grimlock for BuddyPress. It’s a bit more complicated than that, but I tried to explain you as clear as possible how Grimlock works.

As mentioned in my previous replies, we’ve integrated some compatibility work for BuddyBoss within the Grimlock for BuddyPress plugin. We did consider creating a dedicated Grimlock for BuddyBoss plugin, but ultimately decided against it due to limited demand. This is why BuddyBoss is only partially compatible at the moment and that Grimlock for BuddyBoss doesn’t exist.

Did you run the theme setup ? You should get the same result of our theme demo. Can you please send us screenshots of the pages that are not like the demo on your website ?

Concerning the “custom CSS to make the plugin fit to the general appearance of the theme”: I mean that if you use BuddyBoss instead of BuddyPress, as BuddyBoss is not fully compatible, you might need some custom CSS to adapt BuddyBoss features to the style of the theme. However, if you use BuddyPress, you should get the same result as the demo.

    Hope everything is clear. 🙂

Thank you for working with me. I’m quite new to all of this and when I saw wordpress recommend a plugin that didn’t exist I thought it was discontinued or something.
But I switched from buddyboss to buddy press and things snapped into style like the demo.

I wouldn’t have thought the free version would work better, saves me some money!

    thanks again. Love the theme.
