You can already choose to hide the notifications and messages icons in the main navigation bar by going to Appearance > Customize > Community and then unchecking “Display Navbar Notifications Icon” and “Display Navbar Messages Icon” (please review attached screenshot).
Or if you want to hide the icons in the profile menu instead, here is a custom CSS snippet that will allow you to do it:
