Could you please let me know how to remove thumbnail icon from the background area?

To hide this, simply add the following code snippet to your website:
.profile-header__featured-media-col { display: none !important; }To add this code snippet to your site, we recommend that you paste it to the Custom CSS panel of your WordPress Customizer. Just go to your dashboard and navigate to “Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS”.
Pasting your code snippet there should do the trick for you.

This text has nothing to do with these thumbnails. It’s the last activity of the current member.
If you want to hide this, simply add the following code snippet to your website:
#buddypress:not(.youzer) div#item-header .profile-header__body .item-activity { display: none !important; }Hope this will help.
