I’m very pleased about my gtmetrix results for various sections of my site, even with 62 active plugins I did what I can with suggested optimizations tweeks.
But on Pingdom I get a C grade, it seems for the same pages it averages 4-5 sec load time, is there anything I can do to reduce this
Thanks

Hi @lalaine,
We use WP Engine to host all our demos (https://wpengine.com/). The performance of your website can also be improved, like our demos, by WP Rocket (https://wp-rocket.me/). Finally, we may also recommend Imagify (https://imagify.io/), to shrink your images with lowest quality loss.
You can always add more stuff to improve your page loading time but this is a pretty good start.
Please be aware that too many plugins will considerably slow down your page loading time. So, we advise to stick to the bare minimum! ?
If you wish to, feel free to test the barebone demo to see how fast load time can be with less plugins:Finally, if your hosting service allow it, we recommend the version 7.2 for PHP. This will also improve page loading times as each request made on your server will be executed faster.
We hope it helps.

I initially used and paid for wp-rocket as suggested here, unfortunately it prevented the member active results from updating
I’m using imagify, but covers and avatars for the groups are not being served from my stackpath cdn
i have the site on my dedicated server with inmotion hosting, 32gb ram ssd etc
so will updating php5.6 to 7.2 break the site?thanks

fyi, updating php from 5.6 to 7.2 returns 500 internal server error
but works faster with 7.1
gtmetrix stayed the same, but pingdom return a speed average of 1.5 -2.5 seconds which is 50% faster than php 5.6
Thanks again for the suggestion

Hi @lalaine,
Thank you very much for your feedback. It’s great if the speed has improve!
If it’s still possible for you to paste the error logs that you’ve received with PHP 7.2, please do. You can post it in your next reply and mark it has private is sensible info is mentioned. We can give a look and find if the compatibility error is coming from the theme. In that case, we’ll fix it.
In any case, we’re happy if our advice has been helpful with your issue. ?
