Hello
I am testing my site for new users and recognised that they cannot join groups. They can view them, but when clicking the ‘join icon’ it just spins and nothing happens (see attached).
I have also raised this post on the BuddyPress support forums, but I thought i’d also make you aware as I am told this can also be a theme related issue.
regards

I have systematically disabled all plugins except WP and re-enabled 1 by 1. It turns out the root cause of the problem was the ‘Paid Memberships Pro – BuddyPress Add On’ plugin. When i enable this, users cannot create or join groups.
Do you know how i resolve this going forward, as i may wish to use this plugin in the future?
I have also posted this response on the bp support forum, but thought i’d inform you too.
Regards

@luaspo I’m glad to read that you’ve been able to find the root cause of your issue.
If you have further issue with Paid Memberships Pro and its add-on, or if you wish to add this plugin to your site in the future, you should try to reach the plugin authors, not the BuddyPress community forums. Their team developed the plugin containing the settings that were messing with your groups and they will be far more informed and better suited to help you with fine tuning its settings.
To go further, we invite you to post your request on their support forums:
We remain available for all support requests related with the use of your theme.
