    Hi

Is it possible for users to reset the search form in the members directory? I can’t find any button, see attached.

    Hi René,

I think this issue is related to your previous topic: Changing the interest links on the homepage.

We’ll be back to you as soon as we found how to help you.

    Thank you for your patience.

Yeah, about this. The search form that is displayed in the members directory is the Search Map. Not the Search directory. Maybe this has something to do with it?

Please find the attached screenshot of the settings you should use for the Search Map form. Note that the “Add Form to Directory” is set on NO.

Please tell me if this solve your issue. 🙂

For the Dutch translation I had to create a new search form. I think because of this, the old English form is set to NO, but the new one is set to YES. So I do have a Search Map that is set to yes.

However, I was trying to add new search forms to the bunch and it seems that I have multiple search forms connected to the same Members page / Directory Search form. See attached. I have a feeling something is going very wrong here.

I found out that I need to connect the right search forms to the right target directories, see attached.

I’m thinking the Search map needs to be connected with the Map page. However, I’m unable to select it. Any ideas?

    Hi René,

The Search map form has to be set on Members. Can you confirm me you set the form by respecting those on the screenshot I send you?

I don’t think create multiple forms for every language is the right thing to do. The same form should be use on the same page in every language. Several strings that you’re looking for need to be translated from the BP Search Profile plugin. That plugin doesn’t provide a POT file, so we created one with all the strings from that plugin which you can download here: bp-profile-search.pot.

Once you have translated the strings you need, you should have a bp-profile-search-your-language-code.mo and bp-profile-search-your-language-code.po file that you will place in the wp-content/languages/plugins directory of your site. Then, please replace from the file name by the language code of your choice, for instance en_US for English spoken in the US or fr_FR for French.

To make sure that you don’t run in any other similar translation issues, I suggest you to translate also the following plugins:
    – Grimlock
    – Grimlock for BuddyPress
    – Grimlock for bbPress

They each contain a POT file that can be translated. For instance, in Grimlock, you will find it under the following directory: wp-content/plugins/grimlock/languages/grimlock.pot

As mentioned above, we recommend to rename both translated files grimlock-your-language-code.mo and grimlock-your-language-code.po. Then, please replace from the file name by the language code of your choice, for instance en_US for English spoken in the US or fr_FR for French.

For those, the best practice is also to move the files in the plugins languages directory of your whole website: wp-content/languages/plugins directory. There, you will find the translation for other plugins. This will also ensure that the files will not be lost during any future update.

Please note that this issue is related with the use of a third party plugin, not with the use of your theme. As theme authors, the installation, setting or debugging of third party plugins isn’t part of the support we will provide.

To go further, we invite you to ask for more help from the plugin authors and post your request on their support forums: wordpress.org/support/plugin/bp-profile-search.

We remain available for all support requests related with the use of your theme.

That sounds difficult. You think this is whats needed for the search forms to pop-up in the correct language?
Cause I deleted the search forms I created and now all the search boxes have disappeared again.

I also need to have a search field in the Search map area. When I recreated the Search map, it didn’t appear.

Do you think it has something to do with the connected widgets? Do I need to connect widgets to the Search map and search directory?

    I’m afraid I have no clue. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This issue is related with the use of BP Profile Search, not with the use of your theme. We suggest you to ask for more help from the plugin authors and post your request on their support forums: wordpress.org/support/plugin/bp-profile-search.

We hope they will be able to help you in no time.
