Hi
Current posts are getting cut off quite quickly, see attached. Is there a setting so that I can show the complete post?
Thx

Thx. The other Topic is about excerpts, but my question is about the ‘read more’ link.
Reading the WordPress page I came across the Advanced Excerpts Plugin, which had a ‘read more’ option.
However it doesn’t seem to work. See attached. Any ideas?May 27, 2021 at 10:51 #31834@themodactyl- 0 Topics

Sorry René, I read too quickly! 😯
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Please be aware that this is standard behaviour with BuddyPress. However, this request has already been addressed in BuddyPress support: BP WordPress Activity Stream Excerpt Problem.
Please note that this issue is related with the customization of a third party plugin, not with the use of your theme. As theme authors, the installation, setting or debugging of third party plugins isn’t part of the support we will provide. However, you’ll find a snippet in the topic mentioned above that might help you solve this. 🙂
To go further, we invite you to ask for more help from the plugin authors and post your request on their support forums: buddypress.org/support/.
Hope this will help you get what you’re trying to achieve. We remain available for all support requests related with the use of your theme.
Regards,

Ok, so if I want to use the following code: span.activity-read-more { display: none; }
And use it in all Groups pages. Where do I need to place this? On what page in WordPress?

Hi René,
To add a code snippet to your site, we recommend that you paste it to the Custom CSS panel of your WordPress Customizer. Just go to your dashboard and navigate to “Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS”.
Pasting your code snippet there should do the trick for you.Regards,

It’s not working unfortunately. It just removed the tag. It didn’t add any words, see attached.
There is another code which talks about adding more words to the excerpt. I added that one as well, but that doesn’t do anything to the post. Prolly, cause it’s about excerpts.

Please note that the snippet you told me about was a css snippet:
span.activity-read-more { display: none; }
This code hide only the read more button.
To add the PHP code snippet mentioned in the BuddyPress forum to your site, we recommend that you use the Code Snippets plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/code-snippets/). If you have never activated this plugin, please read the following post: Adding Custom PHP Without Changing Your Child Theme.
