Don’t know what happened but suddenly I can’t upload images anymore on the Buddypress Activity stream. Very strange.
I deactivated my Smush Pro plugin but that didn’t help. It must be a Buddypress or rtMedia setting or problem?Do you have an idea on what the issue could be?

Wait, it’s working again. I have a strange permalink issue on my site. For some reason, out of nowhere, 50% of the pages are directed to a 404 page. Then when I save the permalink settings again, everything works fine again. Any idea as to what could cause the issue?

This kind of issues can be caused due to some updates (WP or plugins), especially when a plugin manages some urls.
You did the right thing by regenerating the permalinks. 🙂

First of all, the most common way is to deactivate all plugins one by one and check if the problem persists.
Secondly, it’s important to make sure that you have the latest theme version and that all plugins are up-to-date.
Finally, you have to clear all activated caching system as well as your browser cache before investigating any further. If you want to read more on what browser cache is and how to clear it, here is an article that might help you: How to Clear Internet Cache in Every Major Browser.
We can tell you that these steps correct generally 2 out of 3 issues. 😉
