Your button doesn’t work because you certainly didn’t finish the installation of Paid Membership Pro plugin. You have to create and set the Access Restricted page in Dashboard > Memberships > Settings > Pages. Then, you have to create a subscribe form wish will give to the member the right level.

Please note that this issue is related with the use of Paid Memberships Pro, not with the use of your theme. It’s best if you try to reach the plugin authors as they will be more informed and better suited to help you.
