Hi there,
I just updated 4 of 5 Grimlock updates on my site. The 5th (Grimlock for bbPress) will not update after multiple tries. I am getting the following error:
An error occurred while updating Grimlock for bbPress: The directory structure of the update is incorrect. All files should be inside a directory named grimlock-bbpress, not at the root of the ZIP archive.
Will you please let me know next steps so I can get this plugin updated?
WordPress Version 6.4.3. PHP still only 7.4 as I can’t update to 8.0+ without site breaking. =/
Cera theme and all other plugins updated to latest versions.
Thank you!
~ Angela

Thank you very much, Manathan!
I was able to update the Grimlock for bbPress plugin with no issues now. All is well!
Do you have an ETA on when Cera/Grimlock will be ready for PHP 8.0+? I just tried again after all the Grimlock plugin and Cera theme updates and still get a critical site error with PHP 8.0.
Thank you!

Hi Angela,
Glad to read all is working fine!
Be sure our theme and plugins are compatible with PHP 8. However, it seems Kirki is not compatible yet with PHP 8.2. Our theme needs kirki to work, but I’m afraid this compatibility does not directly depend on our team but rather on the Kirki developers themselves. They are responsible for updating their code to ensure it works correctly with the latest PHP versions.
In general, there are still several plugins that are not fully compatible with PHP 8.2. This is because PHP 8.2 is relatively new, and some plugins have not yet been updated to support this version. It’s essential to check plugin compatibility before activating them on your site.
WordPress itself indicates **”beta”** compatibility with PHP 8.2. This means that while WordPress functions with this version, there may be potential issues. You can find official information on PHP compatibility and WordPress versions here : PHP Compatibility and WordPress Versions.
Given these factors, it’s advisable to update to PHP 8.1 for now, not 8.2. This will ensure better stability and avoid potential compatibility-related problems.
In case you were facing some issue with PHP 8.0, this might be related to a third party plugin. Anyway, in that case, I suggest you to create a new topic so we can give you some directive to understand from where this issue is coming from and, if needed, we’ll be able to investigate with you.
We hope this will help you. 🙂
Best regards,
