I was only able to translate the “Submit” button text, but I couldn’t translate “to” and “from”.

I have translated grimlock buddy press, grimlock bbpress, and grimlock, as well as buddypress and bbpress and it still is not translated.

Maybe if you tell me in which line in which file is the code, then I could just change the source code…

    Thank you

    Hi @wdlb,

Several strings that you’re looking for need to be translated from the BP Search Profile plugin. That plugin doesn’t provide a POT file, so we created one with all the strings from that plugin which you can download here:
    https://files.themosaurus.com/bp-profile-search/bp-profile-search.pot

Once you have translated the strings you need, you should have a bp-profile-search-your-language-code.mo and bp-profile-search-your-language-code.po file that you will place in the wp-content/languages/plugins directory of your site. Then, please replace from the file name by the language code of your choice, for instance en_US for English spoken in the US or fr_FR for French.

To make sure that you don’t run in any other similar translation issues, I suggest you to translate also the following plugins:
    – Grimlock
    – Grimlock for BuddyPress
    – Grimlock for bbPress

They each contain a POT file that can be translated. For instance, in Grimlock, you will find it under the following directory: wp-content/plugins/grimlock/languages/grimlock.pot

As mentioned above, we recommend to rename both translated files grimlock-your-language-code.mo and grimlock-your-language-code.po. Then, please replace from the file name by the language code of your choice, for instance en_US for English spoken in the US or fr_FR for French.

For those, the best practice is also to move the files in the plugins languages directory of your whole website: wp-content/languages/plugins directory. There, you will find the translation for other plugins.

This will also ensure that the files will not be lost during any future update.

    Best regards,

Thank you for your reply, however I have already traslated those plugins and the words ‘from’ and ‘to’ are still not in the language of translation.

Perhaps you could tell me which file’s source code I could change so that the correct language is displayed…

    Thank you

    Hi @wdlb,

The “from” and “to” strings are contained in the bp-profile-search.pot. (Please see attached.)

Please make sure that you have translated BP Profile Search as well and that you have placed the file in the directory mentioned above, with a name that include your language code.

I have translated this file and that string and I placed the file in the correct directory.

So what I’m asking you is to point at a .php file and the line where I could simply change the source code of the plugin, without translation (and what code I should type there).

@wdlb As mentioned above by @themodactyl, please make sure to place all your translation files in the wp-content/languages/plugins directory of your site.

Could you also confirm that you’ve translated Grimlock for BuddyPress and also place your translation files in the common plugin language directory please ?

    Thank you.
