Hi,
I’m wondering if there is a way to enhance buddypress moderation: I need that ANY published image are always pending approval until a moderator in the administration checks them out and approve/publish them.
I found out many moderation plugin but they just allow to report elements and block users… I need a tool that puts a new uploaded image in pending status.
Thanks

Hi Domenico,
Thanks for reaching out!
There are several plugins that allow admins to moderate pictures uploaded by users in the BuddyPress feed. Here are a few popular options:
1. BuddyPress Media:
Features: This is a comprehensive plugin specifically designed for media management in BuddyPress. It offers features like photo moderation, albums, galleries, and integration with various media services. With BuddyPress Media, admins can review and approve/reject photos uploaded by users before they appear on the activity stream.
Considerations: BuddyPress Media is a well-established plugin with a good reputation, but it’s a premium plugin, so you’ll need to purchase a license to use it.
2. wpForo:
Features: wpForo is a powerful forum plugin that can be integrated with BuddyPress. While its primary focus is forum discussions, it offers features like user profiles and activity streams. The admin can moderate photos uploaded within user profiles and forum posts.
Considerations: wpForo is a free plugin with a premium version offering additional features. Keep in mind that it might require some configuration to work seamlessly with BuddyPress for activity stream moderation.
3. BuddyPress Album Cover:
Features: This plugin focuses specifically on moderating group and user profile cover photos in BuddyPress. Admins can approve or reject cover photo uploads before they become visible.
Considerations: BuddyPress Album Cover is a free plugin with a more limited scope compared to BuddyPress Media. It’s a good option if you primarily want to manage cover photos.
The best plugin for you depends on your specific needs and preferences. Regardless of the plugin you choose, it’s essential to have clear user guidelines regarding acceptable content for profile pictures and activity stream uploads. This helps manage user expectations and streamlines the moderation process. Some plugins might offer options to automate parts of the moderation workflow, like sending notifications to users when their photos require approval.
Please be aware that none of these plugins have been tested (yet) with our theme and might require some custom work to make them fit to the general appearance of the theme.
Hope this will help you.
