Is it possible to add a filter in the search directory to search for profiles with profile picture ?

Unfortunately, as the search filters are handled by the BP Profile Search plugin, they are only limited to the profile fields you created and it is not possible to add a filter based on profile pictures.
If you want to go further, you will need some custom development. We recommend you to require the services from Envato Studio freelancers (https://studio.envato.com/explore/websites-programming). This web platform gives you access to developers who have already experience with theme customizations, and for very competitive prices.
