Greetings
I have installed the theme and plugins that come with the theme.
The only major issue is the website is running slow.I looked at my server, my hosting company, the theme and plugins.
Turns out the issue is the Grimlock plugin. When I deactivate the plugin, website runs as fast as lightning. When I re-activate, it goes back to taking 10/11 seconds to load a page. What can I do about this? As I know the Grimlock plugin is required to make the whole thing work.
Sidenote, the Kirki Customizer Framework also add to the delay time but not as much as Grimlock. How may we resolve this?
Kind regards,

Hi @musitect,
Thank you for buying our theme. We hope it will meet all your expectations. 🙂
First and foremost, please check the WordPress prerequisites here:
For better performance and improve security, we obviously recommend PHP 7.3+. Nevertheless, if this is not possible for you (server type, incompatibilities with plugins, etc.), we recommend at least version 5.6.X.
We use WP Engine to host all our demos (https://wpengine.com/). The performance of your website can also be improved, like our demos, by WP Rocket (https://wp-rocket.me/). Finally, we may also recommend Imagify (https://imagify.io/), to shrink your images with lowest quality loss.
You can always add more stuff to improve your page loading time but this is a pretty good start.
Please be aware that too many plugins will considerably slow down your page loading time. So, we advise to stick to the bare minimum!
Our theme offers a built-in setup wizard if you wish to import one of our demos but you can skip it and start your website without installing any plugin or importing any demo content as only two plugins (Grimlock and Kirki) are actually required to make our theme perfectly work. Not every use-case is the same and we believe that our customers should be left with the decision of what to and not to install. You can rest assured that our theme will work fine and perform better without few plugins installed. Finally, this topic might also catch your attention as one of our user shared the server configuration that has helped him to solve a similar issue:

Thanks for your answer. I see it’s the same answer you have given many other people.
I’m on PHP 7.4
Installing WP rocket hasn’t helped
I’ve already disabled the plugins that were unnecessary. It was doing this I realized that the Grimlock and Kirki plugins were actually the cause of the problems (as stated in my original question).I’ve also read that topic on the link you provided.
I have added those line to my htaccess file (and made the changes on my server). It made no difference.
Therefore, I would like a refund for this theme. We are meant to launch soon, but this theme is literally slowing us down. I will look for another theme that will meet our requirements.
Thank you for understanding,

Hi @musitect,
Thank you for your feedback. 🙂
Indeed, it’s important to send you the commons issues and proceed by elimination.
Can you tell us more about this, please? How did you come to this conclusion about Grimlock? Which tools did you use to make this scan?
Please note that Grimlock doesn’t require a lot of performance on his own. Indeed, Grimlock makes all the functionnalities and plugins of your website work together. In conclusion, this result can’t be attributed to Grimlock itself.
For all refund requests, please review the Envato Refund policy:
https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/202821460-Can-I-Get-A-Refund-
https://themeforest.net/page/customer_refund_policyIf your issue is matching the described conditions, please introduce your request to Envato. It will be redirected to us.
Thank you in advance.

Good question:
Firstly:
I deactivated all plugins. Then turned them on one-by-one. Once I turned on Grimlock, the website started taking a long time to load. This also happened with Kirki but the delay isn’t as much. Unfortunately, as you know, Grimlock is needed for the theme to function so I can’t do without it.Secondly:
I used the P3 plugin profiler to help me identify which plugins were possible causing performance issues. The same culprits came up.Reason for refund:
I have read through so many similar topics on this support forum. And it seems that 99% of the time, this speed issue hasn’t been resolved.
The one “solution” that I found (same as what you sent to me) seems to not work for every one. It’s not personal. I have a tight deadline and your product just ain’t it.
It’s best to save time for both of us.— Unless of course you want to login and take a look yourself? If you can fix it, I’ll be happy to stay. Let me know your thoughts. I’ll even provide hosting information. —
Thanks for understanding,

Thank you for your honest opinion @musitect.
Indeed, it’s best if we take a quick look at this…
Could you create a new website user for us please? If possible with administrator capabilities so we can make a quick check of your settings.
You can post the user name and password in your next reply and mark it as private to keep this between us.Also, are we free to deactivate plugins for our tests? In this case, I invite you to make a backup before we investigate your website further in order to make sure you don’t loose any data if something goes wrong.
Thank you.

Hi @musitect,
We’re very sorry for your trouble.
We’ve visited your website and there’s room for improvement.
First, I don’t see any caching plugin installed. As suggested by @themodactyl, you can install WP Rocket and Imagify, like we do for our demos. Those could seem like being pricey but that is an investment you will get back if performances matter to you. You can also choose any other free plugin that can:
– Reduce the CSS/JS file sizes in order to reduce the page size
– Combine the CSS/JS files into one to reduce the number of HTTP requests
– Optimize PHP object caching to reduce the server response time
– Limit the picture quality and size to reduce the page size
– Reduce the size of displayed pictures to reduce the page size
– Do the tasks listed above as well as many other tweaks. If you wish to get hint on what to optimize, I really encourage you to use GTMetrix (please see the report attached). Each box checked will speed up your website and improve your GTMetrix grading.
Please also note that your latest P3 Profiler scan doesn’t show Grimlock as the main suspect for the time required to load your page. Moreover, the suggestion listed above will also apply to our plugin and improve its performance a bit further.
You can rest assured that our theme will work fine and perform better without few plugins installed. We really hope that this will help.
