Hi Mignon,
Please be aware that the Hero doesn’t exist anymore since a few updates. The article on our documentation you might have seen is still available for our older users that have a hero. Now, the hero is a block that you can directly edit when editing your page.
Our demo have been build with Gutenberg editor. It is the default editor for WordPress and is recommended for many reasons, including its ease of use, speed and lightness. To know more about how to use Gutenberg, I think this article from WP Beginner might help you: How to Use the WordPress Block Editor.
Note that we use widgets in our theme, more precisely in the footer. You will be able to use the customizer to change the look and add widgets in the widget areas defined by our theme. Both Grimlock widgets and Grimlock blocks have the same characteristics.
I hope this will help you. Don’t hesitate to come back to us if you have other questions.

Hi Mignon,
I inspected your page and it seems your homepage is still made with Widgets. For this reason, what I told you in my last reply doesn’t concern you, sorry.
In your case, to edit the hero, you need to click on Customize on the top of the page, then click on the blue pen to edit the section.
Please be aware that the form is managed thanks to BP Profile Search plugin. To edit this form, please go to Dashboard > Users > Profile Search. There, you will find all search forms that are used on your website.
Let me know if you need more explanations. 🙂
