I would like to have a “Who’s Online” page which displays “cards” (containing,say photo and name) for all the members who are online at that moment. Can you tell me how to create such a page?

Unfortunately, this feature is not available with BuddyPress and to our knowledge, there is no plugin that you could install to add this feature to your website. You could use the “(BuddyPress) Who’s Online” widget in one of your sidebars:
On the other hand, you could require custom development work.
