Is it possible to add a filter option in the members directory?
At the moment men and women are combined and you can see every person that’s registered.
I would like to add an option for people to select only men or women.

Indeed, this feature can be added with BP Profile Search plugin. This plugin should already be installed on your website. If you deactivated it, please re-activate it.
Go to Dashboard > Users > Profile Search and create a new form named Search directory, if it’s not already created. Then, you’ll need to add the fields you want to use and set the form correctly following the screenshot attached. Then, you should see the filter button on the directory. Please find the attached screenshots.
