Inability to work on the registration page.
My first thought was to have the landing page of the site be the registration page. I am using Private pages (something i dont understand why is not just a native part of buddypress, but there you have it. So it looks like I cant edit the registration page, without doing PHP work on the template. this page isnt accessibe while you’re signed in, so therefore you cant edit it with customizer.
How can I create a landing page for my site that has two buttons, the registration and login, that could pop up as forms, the way that login does on the registration page currently. That way I can welcome users to the site and have them easily navigate to registering or to logging in depending if they are new or not. It would be ideal to use this home page template as the landing page, with a tagline and the buttons register and login under it, bringing up popping up forms. https://pinonboard.com/?page_id=3016
Is the only way to do this by editing the templates and finding php snippets? How come there is no way to edit Cera satisfactorily? With only the mysterious Kirki (still dont know what that is) and Grimlock which is kind of no help for anything substantial. Im not sure if i can use gutenberg blocks to do anything and there is no UI like WP Bakery or Elementor that can help rearrange things significantly in these templates. It feels very rigid. I need you to help me understand how I can better customize Cera.

Hi Brendan,
This cannot be changed using Customizer options or some code snippet that we could provide. To add/change this feature to your website, the best practice is to create your own child theme -starting with gwangi-child- and override the BuddyPress Register page template:
gwangi/buddypress/members/register.php
For more about creating child themes, please read the following post:
If you have never done this before, we recommend you to require the services from a nearby web developer or from Envato Studio freelancers (https://studio.envato.com/explore/websites-programming). This web platform gives you access to developers who have already experience with theme customizations, and for very competitive prices.
Maybe these topics will help you to solve your issue as they seem to answer the same concern:

- https://buddydev.com/show-buddypress-user-registration-form-everywhere-buddypress-site/
Please note that this issue is related with the customization of a third party plugin, not with the use of your theme. As theme authors, the installation, setting or debugging of third party plugins isn’t part of the support we will provide.
To go further, we invite you to ask for more help from the plugin authors and post your request on their support forums:
https://buddypress.org/support/Finally, here is some specifications:
The Kirki plugin is an amazing customizer toolkit that we use within Grimlock to create and manage all the fields in the WP customizer. The Kirki plugin will do nothing on its own and Grimlock will not work without Kirki so both of them are required for your theme.
In conclusion, Kirki and Grimlock give you the possibility to customize your theme. For more about this, here is an article from our documentation:Is the Grimlock Plugin Required for the Theme to Fully Function?
We remain available for all support requests related with the use of your theme.
Regards,

The Kirki Grimlock duo is all about widgets. since when is that an amazing way to edit a website? Widgets are the most rigid feature of wordpress. This is a terrible theme.
So I have a new problem, with this forum. Is there no way I can get support without posting to this public forum? I need to hide the website I’m working on, so I will need to delete all my resolved topics. However I found no way I can do this.

Hi Brendan,
Thank you for sharing your opinion with us. Kirki and Grimlock are not just about widgets. However, please note that Grimlock widgets will give you many options to easily customize these types of sections. Please find the attached screenshot.
In addition, you can use the Grimlock section with elementor and Gutenberg. You can choose which one you want to use.
Please note that thanks to Grimlock and kirki, you can change the overall look of your theme in the customizer.
We have chosen to use a forum to make all problems and their resolution available to all users, so that they can find a solution if their problem is similar. In our forum you can set a private reply so that only you and I can read your message.
I hope this will answer your questions. 🙂
