Hi there,
I’m setting up the theme for the first time, but cannot find the options to enable activation emails to be sent to new members. I have correctly set up SMTP mail & is linked with successful test emails, but no activation email for new members. Please help! Thanks,

Hi Sam,
Thank you for buying our theme. We hope it will meet all your expectations! 🙂
We’re very sorry for your inconvenience. It’s indeed very strange to note that your server is not sending the activation emails.
Please be aware that we do not make any changes to BuddyPress core emails in our theme or plugins. So, this issue has to come from elsewhere.
This issue may also come from:
– Hosting misconfiguration (most probable)
– Mail sending plugins such as Mailchimp for WordPress
– Custom development that can interfere with WordPress mail sending features
– A mail client unable to interpret misspelled HTML
– Bug due to the new BuddyPress update (very improbable)Unfortunately, the installation, setting or debugging of third party plugins and hosting server misconfigurations isn’t part of the support we will provide for our theme.
To go further, we invite you to ask for more help from your server hosting support. We believe that they’ll be better informed and more able to help you.
Regards,

I have a way to fix this! I just spent, no joke, six hours trying to figure this out the other day and I really hope this helps someone when they come looking for this issue again (because it’s prevalent).
This is a BuddyPress issue 100%.
How I fixed this issue is that I installed WP Mail SMTP. I set this up with Gmail since I can use the free version of the plugin with that. I also installed Check & Log Email so that I can have a log of every email that gets sent/comes in (if you pay for WP Mail SMTP pro, you don’t need to install Check & Log Email as there is an email log that comes with that).
Then, suggested on some dark recesses of a BuddyPress Support board, I found someone mentioning going to Tools > BuddyPress > Reinstall emails (delete and restore from defaults).
