Hello ,
I’m currently working on enhancing our member profiles and would love some guidance on how to display the join date of each user. I believe showing the join date would add a valuable piece of information for our community members and provide more context about each user’s activity level.
Here are a few specific questions I have:-
What is the best way to retrieve and display the join date of each user?
Are there any specific privacy concerns or considerations I should keep in mind when implementing this feature?
How can I ensure that the join date is accurately displayed and updated in real-time?
How can I get the join date to show on members profiles and under their card in the member list page?If anyone has experience with implementing a similar feature or has any suggestions on how to approach this, I would greatly appreciate your input!
Additionally, I’ve attached a screenshot (s) below to illustrate how I envision the join date being displayed on member profiles and in the member list page. Your feedback on the design and placement would be immensely helpful.
This is what I am trying to achieve:
What I am trying to on the Member Directory Page for each user:
What I am trying to do on a Member Profile for each user:
Thank you in advance for your help and insights!

Hi Kokiri,
I completely agree, it might be a relevant piece of information to see since when the user is part of the community.
However, I’m afraid we don’t know how you could do it, as it is related to BuddyPress use. I made some research and found this related topic in BuddyPress support : How to get the user registered date and the years old
We remind you that a theme affects the presentation and visual style of your site, while plugins add all kinds of features and functionalities. Unfortunately, this feature is not available with BuddyPress and to our knowledge, there is no plugin that you could install to add this feature to your website. We think that this feature requires custom development work. In consequence, our recommendation is to hire a developer to do this job for you.
If you’re on a tight budget, we recommend you to require the services from Fiverr. This web platform gives you access to developers who already have experience with theme customizations, and for very competitive prices.
Disclaimer : we have no affiliation with Fiverr and are only recommending it as a starting point and a popular option for those who might not be sure where to look when in need of some custom work.
Best,
