Hi @amc159,
My best guess remains that your issue might probably caused by some conflicting third party plugin or some extra code snippet as we don’t encounter this issue with our demos. When the group pages are visited, we can post updates. (Please see attached.)
Could you deactivate all plugins that have not been installed with your theme during its setup and all existing custom PHP code snippets please? And then, could you confirm me that the issue is still persisting please?
Finally, you could also consider clearing all activated caching system as well as your browser cache before investigating any further.
Thank you.

!!! Hello. !!!
This is not the case. We have already done everything suggested… We also tested with a clean install, no customization on a different and completely new site, and it is still the same. Please address ASAP. This support forum was unable to be posted on the last few days, and we’re losing crucial time on a project.

Hi @amc159,
Thank you for your feedback and your patience. As my collegue said: Starting from December 21, 2020 until the January 3, 2021 included, our response is expected to be longer as we’ll be facing a shortage of staff. We thank you for your understanding and we wish you a happy new year. #StaySafe 🙂 ?
It’s best if we take a quick look at this…
Could you create a new website user for us please? If possible with administrator capabilities so we can make a quick check of your settings.
You can post the user name and password in your next reply and mark it as private to keep this between us.Also, are we free to deactivate plugins for our tests? In this case, I invite you to make a backup before we investigate your website further in order to make sure you don’t loose any data if something goes wrong.
Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback @amc159.
We’re not sure to know what is causing this issue as we’re not facing it with our demo or any other website.
We will investigate again and be back to you ASAP.
Again, we thank you for your patience.

Hi @amc159,
We have finally been able to find the root cause of this issue. This is actually because you’re using WP Engine AND have the following BuddyPress option checked:
“Automatically check for new items while viewing the activity stream”WP Engine is actually limiting the native AJAX feature from WordPress to improve performance and loading times, but in this case it is preventing some features from your website like the “Post Update” button from the group pages to execute properly.
We recommend you to keep this BuddyPress option unchecked and this issue should be resolved. If you wish to keep this option checked, we advise that you get in touch with the WP Engine support team to ask them to help you with the fine tuning for this feature.
Best regards,
