I noticed that when using the BP Better Messages plugin, that the Notice feature in the normal message setup was missing.
I did setup a notice for testing purpose and it worked like a charm – I just couldn’t find this when I activated Better Messages.
This feature gets completely lost/overwritten with the Better Messages plugin, but Notice still runs in background.
This would be nice to get added into the menu where people can access the notice pages (even when using Better Messages).Messages are saved in two different places (makes sense), but would be nice to have the “notice” / broadcasting feature.
Also the Better Messages dosen’t have a highlighted feature, so there is no way to see within the list which message is new or not.
I know this is probably something that should be raised within their plugin-support, but is there something that we cen do within the code to hidhlight this?Thanks!

I’m afraid that this issue is related to how Better Message Works, not the theme style. It’s indeed recommended to address this to the plugin’s authors.
Concerning the “highlighted feature”, can you please provide us with screenshots ? I’m afraid I don’t understand the issue. 🤔

Isn’t it possible to build it into the theme somehow (the embedded message-container) so that it’s underneath the menu itself – so there is still access to the Notice button?
Or maybe build in the notice feature somewhere else entirely? 🙂
Regarding the highlight.. It was just when people recieve a new message I would want it to be bold to show me which one was the “un-read” message.
I did find the solution to this, since it only seems to be available through their PRO version of the plugin – and for that extra cost it’s not that important. 😀

This is standard behavior with BuddyPress and Better Message, I’m afraid.
As this is not breaking the page, changing this is considered customization work. Unfortunately, this is a service that we do not provide. We only share snippet only to solve issues with our theme. Any further request for CSS snippets will have to be part of a defect that needs to be fixed urgently. No snippets will be shared otherwise.
If you want to go further with the customization of your website, we advise that you hire a developer to do it for you.
