Hi, I’m having problem on my site using Grimlock login, I use Gwangi dating theme, it’s working normal but when I access the site to customize, it pops up with wordpress message “There is a critical error on your site.” I disabled all plugins and what is preventing me from customizing my site is Grimlock login. Please, what can I do to be able to use grimlock login and not have this problem?

Thank you for buying our theme. We hope it will meet all your expectations! 🙂
To help us getting clues and find a solution to this issue, please activate logging on your website, just turn WP_DEBUG to true, by pasting the following code lines in your wp-config.php file, just before the line that says ‘That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging.’:
// Enable WP_DEBUG mode define( 'WP_DEBUG', true ); // Enable Debug logging to the /wp-content/debug.log file define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true ); // Disable display of errors and warnings define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false ); @ini_set( 'display_errors', 0 );
More on this in the following topic: Debugging in WordPress.
Then, could you activate Grimlock plugin and try again? Once you’ve met the error again, thanks to the code snippet added to your
wp-config.php
file, we should be able to read the error. You can share the content of yourdebug.log
file with us. You can post the content of this file as plain text in your next reply and mark it as private to keep this between us.After having reviewed your next reply, we’ll be able to tell you if the issue is caused by our product, a third party plugin or any type misconfiguration on your server.
If we’re not able to help, we’ll recommend you to transfer the error logs to the plugin author or to your server hosting support.
We wish you the best for 2022. 🥂

We found out what the problem was. A few days ago, Kirki was updated to version 4.0 which changes a lot of things and breaks, for example, the compatibility with Grimlock. The developers of Kirki realized that this update caused some issues for many WordPress installations and they have cancelled the release to return to 3.1.9.
Therefore, the solution is to reinstall Kirki to get the 3.1.9 version. For that, I invite you to delete the plugin and reinstall it. If you want, you can download this version here: Kirki 3.1.9
Be sure that the new version will be compatible with Grimlock as soon as possible. However, we have to deal with this compatibility once Kirki has released a stable version.

It worked! That’s right, the problem was Kirki 4.0.3, I just uninstalled it and downloaded version 3.1.9, it worked and Grimlock login is working again, thanks for the support!

Hi Cristian,
It seems that the last version of kirki doesn’t cause any critical error. We think this last version should be stable and we made our plugins compatible.
Could you please make sure that you have the latest theme version and that all recommended plugins are up-to-date? If it’s the case, I invite you to update Kirki to the last version.
Finally, you could also consider clearing all activated caching system as well as your browser cache before investigating any further. If you want to read more on what browser cache is and how to clear it, here is an article that might help you: How to Clear Internet Cache in Every Major Browser.
In case you’re facing any other issue related to the update of Kirki, please come back to us. We’ll do our best to help you fix it.
Thank you.
