Hello,
I guess we don’t need the fields for account details user name and profile details name. Is it possible to request the first name and last name as required fields? The reason for that is we also want the users to be sorted alphabetically (according to the last name) in the members directory. Is that possible?

Please note that these fields are managed by BuddyPress. Be aware that this plugin allows you to mark some fields as “Required”. For more about the registration form, please read the following posts:
