    Hey,

So basically members are not displaying as random or in registered order in the member’s widget below Hero section. They are static and are almost the same. Why?

Also, when new members register they do not appear immediately in the search by country panel. Does it take like many hours for the site to refresh and display them in as part of the search directory? Or there is a restriction that members must have recent activity in order to appear in the search directory?

How does the city search works? If I leave a box for them to enter the city, the search directory is not displaying well people in different cities. Well, in most of the cases they don’t appear at all!

In that regard. I found just the alphabetical view from the search directory shows every member. How can I set this as default?

    Hi @pukarah,

By default the members under the hero are displayed in order of their last activity, so the most recently active members will always be shown.
You can change the order of the members in that section by going in Appearance > Customize > Widgets > Homepage, then open the first widget in the list and click on the “Query” tab. In that tab, you can change the “Order By” field to your desired order (e.g.: Registration date).

BuddyPress will only show members considered as “active members” on the site. This means they will only be displayed if they logged in at least once on the website. If you manually create or activate a user, you will also need to login with their account, or wait until they do it, for them to appear in the members directory.

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to change the default order to alphabetical in BuddyPress. We think that this feature requires custom development work.
For that we recommend you to require the services from Envato Studio freelancers (https://studio.envato.com/explore/websites-programming). This web platform gives you access to developers who have already experience with theme customizations, and for very competitive prices.

As for the city search, I am not sure I understand the issue correctly. Can you please try to tell us more about that issue ? Please don’t hesitate to attach screenshots and annotate them to demonstrate the issue.

Finally, in the future please try to create one topic per question as it is difficult for us to answer multiple questions in a single topic. It will also make it easier for other members of the community to find answers if they have the same issue as you. Thank you for your contribution!
