Hi @tev671,
Thank you for your patience.
First of all, can you please confirm me you activated the two Display options in Customize > Appearance > Navigation > Search? Please find the attached screenshot.
Secondly, please note that the Profile Search widget is managed by BP Profile Search plugin. I join you a screenshot of all the Grimlock widgets. In that case, if something’s going wrong with this widget, we recommend you to reach the plugin authors. They will be more informed and better suited to help you. To go further, we invite you to post your request on their support forums: BP Profile Search support.
Finally, as you want to use a different search form, you’ll have to hide the default one with some custom CSS. Simply add the following code snippet to your website:
/** * Hide the default search form */ .modal.grimlock-modal-search .modal-body .container form.search-form{ display:none; } .modal.grimlock-modal-search .modal-body #sidebar-navbar-search{ padding-top:0px; }
To add this code snippet to your site, we recommend that you paste it to the Custom CSS panel of your WordPress Customizer. Just go to your dashboard and navigate to “Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS”.
Pasting your code snippet there should do the trick for you.Also, it’s important to remember that we usually share snippet only to solve issues with our theme. Any further request for CSS snippets will have to be part of a defect that needs to be fixed urgently. If you want to go further with the customization of your website, we advise that you require customization work.
Hope this will help you. We remain available for all support requests related with the use of your theme. 🙂
