Is it possible to show only the nickname or nick of the user in the profiles and in the registry? Is it possible to show only the nickname or nickname of the user in the profiles and ask for it in the registry? because at the time of registration, it asks for the nickname and the user twice
Hi @chilepower,
The “Username” and “Name” fields are two different fields. The first one is a unique username that is used to login, and to mention other users in activities and such (for example: @username). The second one is supposed to be the real name of the user. Both are required for BuddyPress to function properly.
Please note that Gwangi is not responsible for the registration form and fields, as everything is handled by the BuddyPress plugin. So if you still want to remove the “Username” or the “Name” field, I’m afraid you’ll have to either contact BuddyPress support (https://buddypress.org/support/) or hire a developer for custom work.
