Hello
I’ve been trying to translate the last couple of areas on the site to Danish over the past couple of days.
I did run into some issues with some of the strings and I can’t seem to figure out where to find them (despite being thorugh it all – lol). For some reason I also seem to be having some issues with it going back to english when I reload the page (or new activities are posted) – when I then refresh the page again most goes back to danish as it should be – something seems to be off. So I would really appreciate your help!
1. Replies on activity are in english until page is refreshed.
2. Several translation strings are missing/not working when using Loco Translate.* I will add more on this thread as I go, since there is quite a few places where translation is lost.
Thank you so much. 🙂

Did read online that Loco Translate is garbage when it comes to dynamic content since it dosen’t really allow for dynamic content at all.
I just downloaded TranslatePress and I’m now trying to see how far that will get me when it comes to translating the rest of the things. So far it seems to be working way better for the dynamic content *knock on wood!*

Hi Katrine,
Maybe these translations are contained in the following plugins:
– Grimlock
– Grimlock for BuddyPress
– Grimlock for bbPress
– Grimlock LoginThey each contain a POT file that can be translated under the languages directory. For instance, Grimlock contains:
wp-content/plugins/grimlock/languages/grimlock.pot
Usually, we recommend to rename both translated files
grimlock-your-language-code.mo
andgrimlock-your-language-code.po
. Then, please replace from the file name by the language code of your choice, for instance fr_FR for french. Finally, the best practice is to move the files in the plugins languages directory of your whole website:
wp-content/languages/plugins
directory. There, you will find the translation for other plugins. This will also ensure that the files will not be lost during any future update.
This article from our doc might help find the best way to translate your website, in case you’re still wondering about the way to achieve the translations:
Best regards,

Hello again
I already checked these and still no luck. 🙂
It did help a lot with switching Loco Translate for the TranslatePress though. Most issues are from Loco Translate not being able to translate “dynamic content” (most of the content on BuddyPress).
I do still have a few areas that i still dosen’t allow me to translate – but I’m trying to translate everything possible and then see what’s left that I need help with locating. 🙂

Hi,
Thank you for your feedback about TranslatePress, we’ll take a look at this plugin to possibly suggest it to other users instead of Loco Translate. 🙂
Yes, come back to us with the strings you were not able to translate, we’ll take a look!
Best,

Hello again
I highly reccomend the TranslatePress for things like the BuddyPress like mentioned (also has a lot of cool features).
I use both Loco Translate and TranslatePress (both are compatible without cousing conflicts).TranslatePress is used for the dynamic content and the strings that Loco Translate is having issues with.
Loco Translate is used for the fixed content that the other one dosen’t seem to manage too wellSo both combined works wonders. 🙂
I managed to translate 95% of the ones I wanted – some were because of cache that didn’t seem to clear in the activity (despite browser and site cache clearing).
Once I deleted the activity that didn’t want to translate and I made the post again, it worked and was translated. 🙂So I’m sure I’ll manage to get all of it translated using both plugins *fingers crossed* 🙂
