On the top of the swipe deck, user profile cards have white corners. How can they be removed so that the full card is the full image, without having the top of the card corners being white?

We clearly see what you mean :).
I think you changed the rounded border of the image but not the one of the element. So there is a gap between these corners
You can find the thumbnail border radius setting by opening the theme Customizer and then going to Posts > Posts Page then open the Item tab and there you will find the Border Radius setting (please review attached screenshot).
