Hi there, with the major update of WordPress 5.0 Gutenberg will everything including plugins still work?
I don’t want to be using Gutenberg editor on the site.
Is there anyway to avoid the Gutenberg all together and have the old wordpress editor?

As you noticed, the new WordPress 5 update brings the brand new Gutenberg editor to create your content in place of the classic editor you’ve been used to.
Rest assured that this new editor will not break anything in your theme, as the theme depends on widgets to display most of your key content, and widgets are left unaffected by this new update. However, please keep in mind that this may not be the case for all the plugins you are currently using, so we strongly advise that you update all your plugins before updating to WordPress 5.
What’s more, Gutenberg brings a whole new experience and represents the future of content creating in WordPress so we recommend that you test this new tool and try to get used to it as it will likely become more and more important as time goes on.
Finally, you can still easily bring back the old editor if needed by installing the following plugin:
