Hi guys,
I need a bit of help!
As you know, the forums topics/replies are displayed on the Activity stream.
I noticed that when a member includes a link in his topic/reply, on the specific forum it is displayed properly (https://prnt.sc/13182kh), but on the Activity stream page the link has embedded content, like in these screenshots:
either it is loading forever https://prnt.sc/13181j8
or is displayed with embedded content https://prnt.sc/13180jbI need a solution in order to erase the embeding function and display links on the Activity stream properly, just as they are on forums. I would really appreciate your support!
Please advise.

Hi Michael, 🙂
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Maybe these topics will help you to solve your issue as they seem to answer the same concern:
Please note that this issue is related with the customization of a third party plugin, not with the use of your theme. As theme authors, the installation, setting or debugging of third party plugins isn’t part of the support we will provide. It’s best if you try to reach the plugin authors. They will be more informed and better suited to help you.
To go further, we invite you to post your request on their support forums: buddypress.org/support
We remain available for all support requests related with the use of your theme.

Hi Manathan,
Thank you for your reply and suggestions!
I understand that this issue is related probably with the customization of BP or BBP and I searched a lot for a solution. I also tried many snippets from other users’ replies from the BP/BBP forums; unfortunately, nothing works for me.
I was very surprised at the number of people having the same issue and seeking a solution for about 8 yrs on the BP/BBP forum and nobody giving them any kind of support. Sad, isn’t it?
Anway, I noticed something that caught my attention. I logged in on your demo and posted a topic on a forum. Then, on the Activity stream page, I inspected elements on both your demo and my site.
It seems that on my site an unnecessary “wp-embedded-content
” class is added:
my site: https://prnt.sc/131jluo
yours: https://prnt.sc/131jnq7Manathan, I really need your support. Please help me understand the difference. I would like to know what I should do in order to avoid the effect of that class.
Thank you in advance!

Hi Michael, 🙂
Please note that the user who wrote this reply used a link in a blockquote. On our demo, we only use simple links. This is why the final result is different.
Hope this will help you understand this difference. Let me know if you need more explanations.
Cheers,

Hi Manathan,
Thank you for your reply!
I’m sorry, it’s my fault, I forgot to specify this!
The users and I posted only forums topics/replies using simple links, no blockquotes were used.
When I logged on to your demo I did the same thing as on my site. I only placed a link without any code around it.Moreover, in the Admin Dashboard -> Settings -> Forums I disabled Add toolbar & buttons to textareas to help with HTML formatting, supposing that this option could affect the display. Then, I placed again a link inside a forum reply, but the same thing happened.
So, you are right! There are blockquotes, but you have to know that they are added automatically and I do not find any settings to disable them.
Please advise.

Hi Michael,
Is it possible that you simply copy the url and paste it on your reply? To avoid this, you need to select the url and mark it as a link with some html formatting. By activating the option Add toolbar & buttons to textareas to help with HTML formatting, you’ll be able to do it easily by selecting the url and clicking on “Link” button on the toolbar. Please find the attached screenshots.
Hope this will help you.

Hi Manathan,
Thank you for your reply and suggestion.
I understand that and personally I could do it. Unfortunately, I am not asking for a solution for me, as admin.
Do you really think the users, possible hundreds, will follow all of them this path? What I need is a core solution for this issue… I need that blockquote to not appear automatically when a user posts a link.
If possible, please give me another solution. Thanks,

Hi Michael,
I understand your frustration. Unfortunately, this issue has nothing to do with our theme as this is standard behavior with WordPress.
As this is not breaking the page, changing this is considered customization work. Unfortunately, this is a service that we do not provide.
We only share snippet only to solve issues with our theme. Any further request for CSS snippets will have to be part of a defect that needs to be fixed urgently. No snippets will be shared otherwise.
If you want to go further with the customization of your website, we advise that you hire a freelancer to do it for you.
If you’re on a tight budget, we recommend you to require the services from Envato Studio freelancers (https://studio.envato.com/explore/websites-programming). This web platform gives you access to developers who have already experience with theme customizations, and for very competitive prices.
Thank you for your understanding.
