What really frustrated me is when I purchased Gwangi dating theme, I expected the profile search setting for a member to only see search result of the opposite sex.
For example, a male member can only see female profiles on his search directory. And a female member can only see male profiles on her search directory. So far, I tested my site as a member, and I can still see profile results with both sex. Why? Why, as a male member myself, need to see other males in my search results?
I have searched through this Member Profile Search forum and Gwangi YouTube channel and found no instruction to set up a profile search setting for this.
I need step-by-step instructions on how to set profile fields, profile search, or even member types set up if required to accomplish this. This needs to be included in a documentation “FOR” your dating theme.
And I also wanted to know how to set up a registration form where members can say, “I am a male, looking for female” and that should automatically set up their search from now on.

First of all, I’d like to remind you that a theme affects the presentation and visual style of your site, while plugins add all kinds of features and functionalities. Gwangi is a theme that brings a specific appearance. This theme, associated with BuddyPress, allows you to create a community, not a dating website.
Be aware that we have noticed that more and more of our customers were requesting to integrate a filter function on their community members. For this reason, we decided to create this solution ourselves with an add-on for our premium plugin: MatchPress.As this add-on is not available yet, this why you can’t find a solution on our support forum or even our youtube chanel.

Whoa…with due respect, according to your theme product on Themeforest.net saying:
“Gwangi is the Perfect Theme for Dating Sites…”
And you even titled the theme I am using called “Gwangi Dating” according to product details.
Humm??
Therefore with the purchase of your plugin, I expected the search function to work as such for dating if you have worked on configuration for BuddyPress in your theme. I understand that you are working on a new addon, MatchPress, but my point is that I can’t allow myself to launch my site as it is now where the members can see everyone, regardless of sex. That would be a very uncomfortable experience for members that may not help my business, don’t you agree?
Now my website is waiting on the launchpad, disappointed that I am held back by the lack of a simple member search function specifically for dating when I believe you should have done it in the beginning when you have marketed your plugin as “prefect theme for dating”.
I have tried BuddyPress.org. It is an open-source project made by contributors as I can see that they rarely answer the question on their forum even all of my posts there remain unanswered.
I am thinking about the risk of doing a soft launch until you release MatchPress that you expected may be about a month from today.

However, as I told you:

We’re Theme authors. We develop themes and make them compatible with third-party plugins. We really think Gwangi Dating is indeed a perfect theme for dating websites. Moreover, the dating demo is online so our potential customers can test it before buying it and understand how it works. Therefore, we were surprise to read about your frustration.
Please be aware that the search feature is not “a simple member search function”. This feature requires a lot of development work. However, we agree with you that this feature could be very useful. That’s why, after studying all possible solutions, we agreed to develop it ourselves.
We’re really sorry that this missing feature prevents you from launching your website. We’ll be back to you as soon as our MatchPress add-on is ready.

I understand that you are the Theme author. Just be careful with your advertisement because all the plugins that came with your theme that I believe are all ready to use when activated. At least for your dating theme, I am working on.
Is there a way for me to have access to MatchPress to test it? Perhaps sandbox?

Concerning BP profile Search Add-on for MatchPress plugin, we’re currently working on it. However, no release date can be disclosed as we need to do several tests to make sure everything works properly and is fully compatible with BuddyPress behavior.
As soon as this add-on is available, I will let you know.

It is indeed a great solution, but I am afraid that it becomes a bit complicated when there are more than two genres on a website.
Moreover, this method is not really user-friendly. However, if you are an experienced WordPress user, the steps to follow might seem easy. In that case, you are free to add this method to your website, everything should work fine with Gwangi. 🙂

I decided not to use that scriot into my files to avoid breaking the site that i heard about. It has t updated for a lot time so no. Ill wait for your memberpress. My site is still waiting on the launch pad.

Moreover, it may be short for you because when launching this add-on, you may need some time to set up the plugin and possibly adjust it to your needs.
To make sure all is ready on time, the best solution might be to hire a developer.
