Id like to take out some of the options.
For example, I’m not using groups, nor friends…

Dashboard > Settings > BuddyPress > Components

Now I just wonder if there is a way to disable the forums.

I’m glad to read you’ve been able to solve this. 🙂
Be aware that the forums are managed by bbPress plugin. To disable the forums, you simple have to deactivate this plugin.
