Hey there,
I wanted to change the fonts in the theme customizer but the chages do not make any difference in the frontend. It seems as if the theme isn’t able to acces the font-library.
Is there anything I can do to fix that?
Thanks for helping me & all the best, ChristophAugust 11, 2023 at 14:59 #45909@themodactyl- 0 Topics

Hi Christoph,
Thank you for reaching out! 🙂
Sometimes it’s “stuck” in the cache. Can you save the changes and refresh the page? The modifications should be visible. 🙂
We use Kirki plugin in order to allow our user to customize the theme. Kirki uses cache and for some settings like the fonts options, you need to refresh the page after saving your new settings.
Let me know if this issue still persists.

Hi Manathan,
thanks for your reply!
The cache doesn’t seem to be the problem. I deleted the cache and opened the page in different browsers on different computers. The used fonts are always the same and not the fonts I chose. Maybe you have another helping idea?
Thanks a lot, ChristophAugust 19, 2023 at 18:34 #45971@roboraptor- 0 Topics

Hi Christoph,
Thank you for your feedback!
It’s best if we take a quick look at this. Could you create a new website user for us please? If possible with administrator capabilities so we can make a quick check of your settings.
You can post the user name and password in your next reply and mark it as private to keep this between us.Also, are we free to deactivate plugins for our tests? In this case, I invite you to make a backup before we investigate your website further in order to make sure you don’t loose any data if something goes wrong.
Thank you.

Hi Christoph,
Thank you for granting us access to your wp-admin.
Can you please tell us where exactly would you like to change the typography? Which typography are you trying to use? Here are some notes:
- Change font in the Hero: Please go to Customizing > Appearance > Hero > Style and select the right font for title, subtitle and text.
- Buttons: Please go to Customizing > Appearance > Buttons > General.
- Dafault titles: Please go to Customizing > Appearance > Typoraphy > Headings and select the right font for title and subtitle.
Hope this will help you. 🙂

Hi Christoph,
Usually, Kirki dynamically loads the fonts in Customizer for better previewing the changes and then, it downloads the desired font files to your server to improve page loading times.
Issues related with loading server static files are frequently related with permission settings. Some fine tuning or changing the permission settings to let the font file correctly load using your FTP client will probably fix your issue.
But in some cases, you need to flush the cache for fonts path. The most common fix for that is certainly to entering this url (YOURSILEURL.COM/?action=kirki-reset-cache) and flush your browser cache too. For more, please read the following topics addressing the same issue:
Finally, if you’re using some caching software, please make sure to empty all your caches before testing again. Can you please tell us if resetting the kirki cache solved this?
Best regards,

Hi Manathan,
thank you so much!
I didn’t really understand the technical details, but: Deleting the font-files in wp-content/fonts via ftp-client helped! There was no need to flush any cache. The font-files have been restored after I reloaded the page – everything is fine now.
Thank you very much & all the best,
