Hi,
A profile picture is a really important image for the user. Currently almost all the uploaded profile images are not sharp. Of course, I know that people need to upload sharp images but all the pictures that are uploaded through the Media section are sharp. So there is something going wrong in the Profile Picture area.
My guess is that the resizing of the images is not working correctly. It is creating an immense quality loss of the profile picture. Is there a way to turn this resizing feature off? So that people can simply upload their complete image?

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. This issue has already been reported by other users, including you:
Unfortunately, this problem is related to the use of the BuddyPress plugin. The fact that the images are not blurred in Media is due to the fact that these images are managed by another plugin.
As I told you, we invite you to report this issue on the BuddyPress support forums as the profile images are managed by this plugin: buddypress.org/support. They will be more suited to find out from where this issue is coming from and how you can solve this.
