I have tried basically everything. I have uninstalled all plugins that did not come with the theme. I have also tried uninstalling plugins that came with the theme but aren’t a part of the membership function, like docs and events etc. I have done a fresh install of the theme. I have switched to other themes and the problem persists in other themes. I have tried reverting back to two previous versions of buddypress. I have had 3 wordpress bug fixers on Fiverr look at it and all have refunded my money because they can’t fix it.
The only thing I haven’t done is completely wipe the server and reinstall WordPress from scratch.

I was able to fix this issue. You can restrict access to the site effectively using PMPro but when users register on the buddypress register page they are not automatically assigned a membership level in PMPro. I added the code below to the code snippets plugin so that users automatically are assigned a membership level on registration.
function my_pmpro_default_registration_level($user_id) {
//Give all members who register membership level 1
pmpro_changeMembershipLevel(1, $user_id);
}
add_action(‘user_register’, ‘my_pmpro_default_registration_level’);May 4, 2020 at 15:09 #12411Brian RobbinsParticipant@brobbins- 11 Topics

If this is a problem with Buddypress then it would also be a problem with the theme since the theme is a buddypress theme, yes?
Surely there is a solution here.

I think I figured it out. It was set to the wrong “template”

This plugin does not work. It restricted my homepage and nothing else.

I used your method to hide the left menu for logged out users and this is what I get. I want to hide the entire left slider menu for logged out users, not simply the menu items it contains. Is there any way for a logged out user to see just the top header menu and logged in users to see the left menu?

I turned the PmPro plugin back on because I need it to make the site exclusive.

I should add that I disabled PMPro plugin because it was causing issues with the members directory.

Recent plugin update seems to have fixed the issue.

I was able to fix the issue by going through the theme setup a few times. I don’t know why it took multiple attempts but it seems to have worked.

The “boxed” issue is fixed, and I am able to get the menu to collapse by deleting a caching plugin. All other issues persist.
