Hey @themopteryx,
You’re right, I hadn’t updated my theme…
However I tried again now that everything is up to date and it still doesn’t display properly when the main nav is set to sticky (see screenshot).
Any idea what’s causing this?Thanks a lot,

Hey @themopteryx! Thanks so much, what worked was deleting the font files in the wp-content/fonts folders of my new hosting and using the reset-cache action from Kirki!
Everything looks good now!
Cheers 🙂

Hi, thanks again for all the effort put in the support!
I have a weird format issue, which I realize is linked to the sticky nav.
When sticky nav is activated, following @themosaurusrex ‘s advice doesn’t work (see screenshot 1)
But it’s displaying as it should when “sticky nav” is unchecked (see screenshot 2) — though I need the sticky nav, duh ??♀️Probably fixable with some CSS but I notice the header design has a tendency to break when switching to other options (see screenshot 3 when I disable the secondary menu and just change my nav from top to left side??)
Might be some configuration error/override on my side? I don’t detect it through the inspector.
But there definitely seems to be an issue with the sticky nav ?At the moment it’s not urgent for me so I’m sticking (no pun intended) to the simple, 1 menu, breakable sticky nav, as long as we don’t add more elements to the menu it should be fine for now!
But maybe it’s a case to crack for later…
Cheers!

Hi @themodactyl! Unfortunately, none of these solutions fixed my issues.
Firstly because I need all the pages in the menu, and also because (and that might be me just not looking hard enough) I don’t find how to add a secondary menu in the pre-header. That would be great if I could do that, though, because some things are less essential than others. I tried doing that through the customizer using the Grimlock navigation component but it’s not what I expected (it’s floating top – left, very big, covering my nav…)Regarding the snippet, i’d be glad to have it & I think it could also help other people. Thanks for offering 🙂
Have a great weekend,

Hello again,
sorry for the delay, I had to wait to have complete FTP access before digging further in snippets 🙂
I’ve tried the snippet again, the one to add a string before the filter, and it works like a charm. no idea why it broke earlier…So thank you so much for your help.
The other bit however, removing the ellipsis, doesn’t work (i’ve added the php snippet and the css). I’m sharing the result just in case, however I think you’ve done more than enough for me already ? so I’m not expecting any more custom snippets or extra work on your part! I’ll just do without it!
Thanks for the excellent support!

Hello @themodactyl,
Thanks for your answer.
However, is it really standard design with WordPress since I’m talking about options inside your plugin “Grimlock”? Maybe I’m wrong, I’ll take a look to see what I can do on my side, either with the help of developers or some plugin.Anyways, this could be a cool thing to add to the feature requests, but I’ll find my own way for now!
Have a great week,

Thanks @themosaurusrex!
I’ll see if this is worth the trouble ?
Interesting to know the header isn’t retina-ready, I don’t think it will be a problem for our client but it’s worth mentioning for other themosaurus clients and potential clients, since it’s become quite a standard for wp themes. Anyway, not an issue on my side and I appreciate the extra help to try and solve my issue! ✌️Cheers, and may you have a great weekend! ☀️

Exactly!
Except I replaced the apostrophe as follows:Filtrez à l'aide des catégories suivantes:
Might be the accent that broke it?
Anyways, not to worry, there’s probably enough here for me to find a solution and update this topic… I wouldn’t want to make you work extra ?Have a great weekend!

Hello @themodactyl,
We are aware you don’t provide custom snippets or advanced customization, no worries, we were just asking if there wasa way of changing this. If we find the way to change this via a snippet, we’ll try to share it here for others to benefit from.Have a great weekend,

The first snippet broke my website ?
I’ve added a string in French, changing the apostrophe by the html entity ' , could that be what caused the issue?
Anyway I’ve now deleted the plugin and I’ll have to be careful, following the instructions of the Code Snippet plugin to put it in safe mode before going further with this…I appreciate your help, though I still have to tweak some stuff before I can see if it works! ?

Hello Olivier,
Great to know! We will be waiting for that update.
In the meantime, could you maybe share what configuration you used to make this possible in your demo? I would love to be able to show some kind of author box at the bottom of the articles. It doesn’t even have to be the bio, but at least the name, link to the profile and maybe some other custom profile fields (country, university, etc)?I guess there are a lot of plugins that can do that however as we said before we’re drowning in plugins already, and in order to not create further compatibility issues, if there is a functionality in your theme, we’d rather use it 😉
Thanks a lot for your work!

Once again I’m making my own questions obsolete haha… I found how to show the featured “pin” on the widget: in the customizer, in the display posts options, select “Display format”. So that bit is done. Still trying to find a way to display only sticky posts though.
It would also be interesting to be able to change the featured icon, and/or the general styling of the featured posts in the grimlock section ??Thanks for your support!

I’m adding this message for more information and also so this thread will be easier to find in your documentation. I’m using the terms “featured” and “pinned” posts, but I think in your documentation you refer to them as “sticky” posts.
Also, is there a way to add a pin icon or some visual distinction to show they are featured? There is a different border color on the posts page, but nothing on the homepage when using the Grimlock widget. Thanks!

Hello! We noticed that the eye icon (see password) was not available in the popup login form, but is available in the login page. So in the end we decided to use the dedicated page as it is not a big issue to have an extra page before being logged in. Though I think it would be awesome if the little eye icon became available in the pop-up login form. Maybe we missed something but the option didn’t appear!
Hope this clarifies this subject 🙂
Cheers,

We have installed a LOT of plugins, it wouldn’t be recomendable for us to turn them off now we need all of them for the profile, for the profile we used “Conditional Profile Fields for BuddyPress”. Normally all plugins were compatible with buddypress.
Do you have any suggestion about how to make it work? or what could it be?
Thank you!

Hello Andrea,
I’ve just added the bio and it still doesn’t work. Could it be something else?? Thanks very much for the quick answer on this.

Hello,
Sorry for the unconvenience, but this issue has been solved. It was a buddypress setting that had been deactivated. We ticked the boxes next to “Allow to change profile picture” and “cover pictures” and it worked.

Hey Olivier!
Thanks for the suggestion, that’s exactly what I think I’ll do. I think creating the custom category with Pods or make it easier with a plugin like WP GeoNames. Thanks for the help!
